Board approves Citizens Bond Oversight and Financial Futures Committee appointments for 2025–26

The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved appointments to the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) and the Financial Futures Committee for 202526 terms.
Trustee Leanne Haynes, chair of the community engagement committee, explained that both committees include community stakeholders, teacher and staff representatives, parents and business owners. Applications were solicited in February and March and reviewed to ensure geographic representation across the district. Haynes said the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee will meet quarterly and oversee execution of outstanding 2019 bond projects, while the Financial Futures Committee will advise the finance department and the board on budget matters from a community perspective.
Trustee Haynes brought the motion to approve the CBOC appointments and Trustee Fowler seconded; the vote was unanimous. Trustee Mike moved to approve the Financial Futures Committee appointments and Trustee Wilbanks seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Haynes noted that the three trustees who serve on the community engagement committee (Haynes, McMorrow and Richardson) typically attend CBOC and FFC meetings and described the work as a substantial time commitment. Trustees stressed the committees provide community perspectives on bond oversight and fiscal planning and will meet quarterly.
Action: Motion to approve 202526 appointments to the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (mover: Trustee Haynes; second: Trustee Fowler) and a separate motion to approve Financial Futures Committee appointments (mover: Trustee Mike; second: Trustee Wilbanks). Both motions approved unanimously.
