The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees on June 26 ratified two administrative appointments discussed in closed session: Keisha Edwards as principal of Ellis Elementary and Delise Hardy as the district27s executive director for curriculum and instruction. Trustees voted 7-0 to ratify the appointments.
Superintendent Dr. Smith introduced Keisha Edwards and highlighted her more than two decades of experience in public education, noting her background in instructional leadership, special education, and campus administration. Edwards thanked colleagues and mentors in AISD and said she was "privileged to work with such dedicated educators" and looked forward to the work at Ellis Elementary.
Dr. Smith then introduced Delise Hardy, whose nearly 25 years in public education include district- and campus-level leadership and work building language programs. Hardy told the board she was "honored and incredibly excited to step into the role" and praised the work of the world languages team she previously led.
The ratification vote followed a motion and subsequent roll-call-style verification of virtual trustees' votes; the board recorded all trustees voting in the affirmative and declared the motion carried 7-0.
The board recessed briefly for a reception after the introductions. Both appointees will assume duties per the district27s administrative onboarding process and report to the superintendent. No changes to job descriptions or contract specifics were announced at the meeting.
Trustees offered congratulatory remarks and signaled support for the incoming leaders as they transition to their new roles.
Action: Motion to ratify administrative appointments for principal of Ellis Elementary and executive director of curriculum and instruction; outcome: approved unanimously (7-0).
