Planning staff presented a request from property owners to use a high-density development option for a site adjacent to Mooresville Industrial Park that would increase permissible impervious surface from 24% to 70% if the board approves the request.
Planner Todd (presenting) told commissioners the property had recently been rezoned and the owners now seek the high-density option. "Currently, they can develop up to 24% of the property, but if approved by this board, then they can go up to 70% impervious on that property," Todd said. He added the property is adjacent to the industrial park and staff recommended approval if the developer installs stormwater controls that would not be required under the lower-density option.
No further public discussion was recorded and the board approved the request by consent. The staff memo cited the requirement that additional stormwater measures be put in place if the higher impervious cover is allowed.
