Jackson County commissioners on Oct. 14 recognized Parks and Recreation staff after Jackson County Park won two categories in the countywide People’s Choice awards: best city/county park and best campground/RV. The commission thanked park staff for maintenance, dock repairs and year-round upkeep that county officials said improved safety and visitor experience.
The commission also presented certificates recognizing completion of mandated and recommended coursework administered by the Alabama Association of County Commissioners (ACCA) and the Alabama Local Government Institute. Commissioners presented a credential to Commissioner Paul Kenimer for completing legislatively mandated educational requirements and recognized Misty Perkins in county administration for completing the county government education institute coursework and certification.
No formal action or funding changes were associated with the recognitions presented on Oct. 14.
