Goodyear council approves appointments and consent items unanimously

At its Oct. 27, 2025 meeting the Goodyear City Council unanimously approved appointments to boards and commissions, administered oaths of office to those appointees, and adopted the consent agenda (items 2–7) by a 7–0 vote.

The council approved appointments and reappointments to the council compensation committee and the citizen water advisory committee. After the vote the mayor administered the oath of office to those appointed. The mayor and several council members publicly thanked volunteers for serving on boards and commissions.

The consent agenda items read and approved by title included: approval of minutes (item 2); approval of the 2026 council meeting calendar (item 3); approval of budget amendments and related expenditure authority (item 4); approval of an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Buckeye Union High School District No. 201 for school resource officer services (item 5); approval of a settlement agreement with Foresight Design and Construction Inc. (item 6); and approval of an employment agreement with the presiding municipal judge (item 7). The city clerk opened the vote and the council recorded the vote as 7–0.

No members of the public spoke on non‑agenda items during the public-comment portion of the meeting. The council then moved on to a public hearing and other business.
