The Finance Committee on Oct. 27 approved a resolution to purchase and install video production equipment for the Now Arena from Unified Board Operations LLC, doing business as Visua, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, in an amount not to exceed $117,290.50.
Operations staff (identified in the transcript as Ben) told trustees the current control-room equipment dates to a 2016 upgrade and is now at or near end-of-life. He said the vendor that submitted the low bid was also the original installer and therefore familiar with the existing system. Ben said the new cameras will be 4K and the upgrades are intended to avoid equipment failures during games and events.
Trustees heard that the arena’s busy season starts in November with the Windy City Bulls season opener on Nov. 8 and other collegiate and concert events through December, including an AEW pay‑per‑view event on Dec. 27. Trustees were invited to the first games.
Chairperson Pilafis called the motion and the committee approved the purchase by voice vote; the chair announced the ayes carried.
The transcript records no formal contract number or additional contract terms; staff said the work is a capital replacement to maintain operations.
