Bowie council adopts library-term change, approves budget amendments and fire-department MOU; budget closeout gets first reading

The Bowie City Council on an evening meeting approved multiple administrative measures, including a change to library board trustee terms, two budget amendment ordinances and an interlocal agreement with Jacksboro Fire Department, and took a first reading on a budget closeout item.

The council voted to adopt on second reading Ordinance 2025-11, which amends article 1.11 (Library) to change Board of Trustees appointment terms from two years to five years. The change was the subject of a prior discussion at the council's last meeting; council members gave the ordinance final approval at the second reading.
