Superintendent announces record graduation rate, IB candidacy and new school-based health centers

Doctor Saltzman told the board on Oct. 28 that the district’s on-time graduation rate for the Class of 2025 reached 96.3 percent, which he called the highest in district history.
"The graduation rate for the class of 2025 has reached 96.3 percent," Doctor Saltzman said, and he thanked students, staff and families for their work.
Saltzman also announced that Cascade High School is now a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and that information sessions for families are scheduled at middle schools, beginning Nov. 12 at Gateway Middle School.
He confirmed that two new school-based health centers — one at Cascade and one at Everett High School — are open and that ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be held Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, each beginning at 2:30 p.m. Saltzman said the centers are supported with state funding and operated in partnership with the Community Health Center of Snohomish County.
Saltzman invited the public to upcoming "Let's Connect" events about the proposed construction bond and education levy for 2026; the first event was announced for Nov. 6 at Cascade’s library. He closed by wishing students a safe Halloween.
