Wounded Warrior Project asks Gautier for support as veterans event returns

Bowers said the event is returning for a sixth year and expected participants from multiple states. "We have 45 different warriors that are coming from 22 states," he said in the meeting record. He thanked local volunteers and boat captains who provide therapeutic fishing outings and asked that the city assist with event logistics, including coordination with law enforcement and fire officials for emergency coverage.
The mayor replied that the city would provide the necessary application form and process the request for emergency services support. No formal funding request or ordinance was recorded in the meeting minutes; the council offered general support and said members planned to attend the kickoff and tournament activities.
