A Publix supermarket in St. Augustine Beach is listed on the grocer's website to open Nov. 13, and city officials said Monday that the store is finishing interior systems and is being stocked.

Brian Law, building official for the City of St. Augustine Beach, said construction crews are completing plumbing, mechanical and refrigeration work and that "currently, they're stocking the store as we speak." Law also described the status of adjacent tenants: "Currently, the First Watch plan review has been completed by the city. They have yet to pay the fees and pick up the permit. But right now, we're building the shell. So I would expect in another month or so that they'll begin to build out inside."

The meeting host, who opened the update, directed residents to Publix's website for confirmation and noted that the Nov. 13 date is the store's listed opening: "That is the date on their web page right now." City speakers said signage and façade work are ongoing for the retail strip and that Taco Libre's outdoor dining will be available for the fall and winter months.
