District staff reported an increase of 10 students from the first day of school to Oct. 1 but said overall enrollment remains behind the adopted budget by 77 students, which the presenter estimated equates to roughly a $850,000 budget gap.
The presenter said the bulk of recent enrollment growth came in the district’s online program and that the administration will present a fall budget revision and the annual audit at next month’s meeting. "Our budget gap is 77 at right now. That's approximately 850,000," the presenter said. The presenter also said the audit produced favorable results that will help offset part of the shortfall.
Board member Chabillion moved to approve the financial report, Nelson seconded, and the motion carried. The district flagged that staffing adjustments and revised general education estimates will be part of the fall revision to align the budget to current enrollment and updated information.
