San Marino Unified approves AB 1200 disclosures and superintendent pay amendment

The board then approved that disclosure by roll-call vote.
Dr. Choi also presented the AB 1200 disclosure for management, administrative, confidential and other unrepresented salary employees; the Los Angeles County Office of Education reviewed both disclosures and confirmed the district can maintain required reserve levels. The board approved that item by roll call.
On a separate action, the board considered an amendment to the superintendent—mployment agreement summarized by Dr. Jason Rose (human resources). Rose said, "If approved, the superintendent's current annual salary will increase by 2.3% retroactive to 07/01/2025. In addition, the superintendent will receive a one-time payment in the amount of 3% of her annual salary." Board members discussed that the one-time payment is calculated on the employee ssignment prior to the 2.3% ongoing increase, consistent with the AB 1200 narrative. The motion to approve the superintendent amendment passed on a roll-call vote.
All recorded roll-call votes on the three agenda items were recorded as ayes by the same voting members each time. The board did not record any no votes, abstentions or recusals on these items.
The board directed staff to post the AB 1200 disclosures and relevant salary information on the district website to maintain transparency. District administrators said the accounting office will show the calculations for auditability and that the superintendent's contract, like other public records, will be available for review.
