On Monday, Oct. 27, the Spring‑Ford Area School District Board of Directors unanimously approved a package of finance and consent items that the board recorded as section 7, letters a through t; the board recorded the vote on that package as 6–0.
Addie Magar, branch manager of the Royersford Free Public Library, addressed the board during the meeting’s agenda‑item public‑comment period and asked the board to approve the library’s lease (identified in the agenda as item 7r). "I just wanna ask you to please vote yes to the lease. This will allow us to apply for the Keystone 2026 grant for library facilities, which we will use to totally renovate the library floors, windows, make it more energy efficient, and also cover some of the flooring that is almost a 120 years old," Magar said.
The board clerk called the vote on the finance package later in the meeting. The board recorded six ayes, no opposed votes and no abstentions. Members voting in favor who were present or on the roll call were Mrs. Hermans, Mrs. Weingarten, Mrs. Dierdorf, Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Westwood and Dr. Wright (online). Absent for the meeting were Mrs. Goldsmith, Mr. Lackey and Dr. Sharma.
Board members did not provide details of the lease terms on the public record during the meeting; Magar and the meeting chair discussed follow‑up logistics after the public comment, and Dr. Scanlon said administration would be in touch to coordinate any necessary submittals or materials for the board.
Because the public speaker described the lease as enabling a Keystone 2026 facilities grant application, the board’s recorded approval of the finance section that includes item 7r is the formal action that will allow the district and the library to proceed with next steps consistent with applicable district procedures and any additional administrative requirements.
Motion and vote summary (as recorded in the meeting transcript): "Approve section 7, finance letters a through t (includes item 7r, Royersford Free Public Library lease; item details not specified in the public transcript)." Vote: 6–0 (yes: Hermans, Weingarten, Dierdorf, Jackson, Westwood, Wright; absent: Goldsmith, Lackey, Sharma).
