The Marshall City Council authorized staff to execute an engineering and construction administration services agreement with Bolton & Menk for the city’s sanitary sewer rehabilitation project.
Jason Anderson, director of public works and city engineer, said staff identified multiple sewer segments through televising reports that are good candidates for a trenchless cured‑in‑place pipelining repair. He said the trenchless method reduces surface disruption and is appropriate in locations not scheduled for near‑term street reconstruction.
Anderson said the capital budget includes approximately $1,760,000 for the overall project; Bolton & Menk’s proposal for engineering and construction administration services was presented as a not‑to‑exceed contract just under roughly $130,000. The scope includes review of televising, site inspections, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction‑phase support.
The Public Improvement/Transportation Committee reviewed the project and recommended forwarding the agreement to council. Council approved the authorization by roll call vote.
Staff will proceed to finalize the agreement and begin design and bidding as scheduled.
