Council issues proclamations, names Jamie Deavey 2025 employee of the year

Mayor Andrew Ross and council presented several ceremonial proclamations and recognitions during the meeting, including the City of Temple Terrace 2025 employee of the year and proclamations for the Friends of the Library and World Polio Day.
Mayor Ross read a proclamation naming Jamie Deavey, finance operations manager, the city's 2025 employee of the year, citing her role in payroll processes, grant administration (including FEMA reimbursements), business-tax ordinance revisions, vendor onboarding systems and event support. Deavey, who spoke from the podium, thanked her colleagues and family and emphasized the team nature of the recognition: "This award'it's not just for me. I have an amazing team behind me...I live here. I work here. I play here. This is City of Temple Terrace is my favorite place to be."
The council also presented a proclamation recognizing National Friends of the Library Week to Michelle Banyan of the Friends of the Temple Terrace Public Library; Banyan encouraged residents to support library fundraisers and attend the November book sale. The council proclaimed Oct. 24, 2025 as World Polio Day and recognized Rotary Club members for local fundraising and global polio-eradication efforts; Rachel Pawlowski noted local fundraising examples and invited residents to club meetings.
