The Saratoga Springs Design Review Board approved nine consent‑agenda applications during its Oct. 29 meeting, clearing a set of routine architectural reviews for utility poles and small exterior modifications.
The items approved on consent included Verizon utility‑pole and wireless equipment installations adjacent to 110 Excelsior Ave., 217 Caroline St., 147 East Ave., 200 Regent St., 135 Lake Ave., 44 Fifth Ave., 78 Mitchell St., and a modification to an approved exterior change at 282 Ballston Ave., plus an accessory structure (backyard shed) at 2 Van Rensselaer St. The board said these applications were straightforward and posed no unusual design concerns.
The chair read the full consent list aloud and asked whether any board member or member of the public wished to pull an item for separate discussion; none were requested. The items were then approved by a single motion; the board recorded the vote and announced the motion passed.
A separate motion was taken for one consent item (700 North Broadway) because a board member needed to recuse from that application; that application was also approved, with one recorded abstention. Board staff told applicants that administrative follow‑up with staff (Julia) would be required for permit processing.
The approvals allow applicants to proceed with the administrative steps necessary to obtain building or street‑right‑of‑way permits. The board’s actions were procedural and focused on visual and siting consistency in city districts; no appeals or follow‑up hearings were announced.
Earlier in the meeting the board also approved its Sept. 10 and Sept. 24 meeting minutes.
