The Monrovia Unified School District approved multiple agreements intended to address staffing shortages and expand student supports.
Staff presented an agreement with Emergence HealthCare to supply nursing staff, speech pathologists and other health providers to fill immediate openings; presenters described it as temporary staffing to meet service needs while the district continues recruitment.
The board also approved a grant-funded agreement with UWorld Learning to bolster Advanced Placement testing preparedness; presenters noted the district covers AP-test fees for students and that the vendor s resources may be evaluated for use beyond AP classrooms once data are available.
An agreement with UCaire Inc. was approved to provide behavioral-health services tracking and technical support; staff said the system allows real-time logging of services and provides training to staff on documentation (the presenter described HIPAA and data-security compliance).
Finally, the board approved participation in the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI), subject to preparing student data in time for a January start; the program is intended to streamline college applications for all students and level access across demographics. The board approved the motions as presented; vote tallies were not recorded in the recap.
