Council votes to not reject administrators' collective bargaining agreement with Tolland Administrative Society

The Tolland Town Council on Oct. 28 voted to "not reject" a collective bargaining agreement reached between the Tolland Board of Education and the Tolland Administrative Society covering July 1, 2026 through January 2029. The resolution before council was the statutory step that allows the negotiated contract to proceed.

Board and district representatives described the agreement as a negotiated settlement lower than the average among comparable districts: the committee reported a 9.49% total increase over three years compared with a 9.92% average among 38 districts negotiating this cycle. The contract will reflect an employer share of health insurance that the administrators will pay and implements a predictable salary-step schedule, staff said.

Councilors moved the required resolution to not reject the agreement and the motion passed by roll call. Councilors thanked the negotiators and asked staff to ensure clear implementation steps; no amendments to the agreement were made at the council meeting.
