At its Oct. 27 special joint meeting, the Johnson County Board of Commissioners and Redevelopment Commission approved minutes from an Aug. 25, 2025 special joint meeting and an Oct. 13, 2025 executive session, and ratified several invoices presented for payment.

The ratified claims included invoices from HWC Engineering (two invoices), AIM Media (two invoices for advertising in the Veil Journal), and one invoice from consultant Peter Franklin Ltd. A motion to ratify the invoices was made, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.

During old/new business the commission discussed HWC Engineering's drainage work for the area along Interstate 69. Commissioners praised a junior HWC staff member's explanation and noted the report includes useful recommendations for drainage in the I‑69 corridor. Christian (HWC or consultant representative) said an executive-summary one-sheet was available to explain the contract services and recommended actions and offered to email that summary to commissioners.

No formal votes were taken on the HWC recommendations at the meeting; the material was discussed as background for future planning.
