Kershaw County teachers run raffle of 18 gift baskets to fund Mary Ann Blazkowicz scholarships

The presenters said the scholarship “provides college scholarships for KCSD seniors who are majoring in education,” and that the fund “supports the teacher cadet classes at all 3 of the area high schools.”
The raffle features baskets with local themes and practical items, including a “Home Sweet Camden” basket, a self-care basket, a picnic set, a grill basket, a candy-themed basket and a cash prize called the “mixed greens” basket. Presenters said the mixed greens cash prize totals $555.
Tickets are $2 each, and presenters explained an incentive structure for multiple purchases: for every $10 spent, buyers receive six tickets. “These tickets are on sale now through November 19,” Kaylor said, and “the winning ticket will be drawn November 24 live on Facebook.” Ticket sales are open to the public and may be purchased at the district office lobby or from teacher forum representatives at each school.
Mickle and Kaylor encouraged community support as a way to help local students who intend to return to teach in Kershaw County. “We look forward to you purchasing these tickets,” Mickle said, adding thanks to attendees for their support.
No formal board action, vote or policy change was recorded during the presentation; the segment in the meeting served as an informational announcement and fundraising appeal.
