The Tuscaloosa City Council adopted Zoning Amendment No. 19 to rezone roughly 0.55 acres from NC (neighborhood commercial) to MR-1 (multi-family/residential) to allow construction of four single-family homes.
City planning staff said the parcel is identified on the future land use map as a traditional neighborhood core and that the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval at its August 18 meeting. Chris Sentell of Sentell Engineering, representing the applicant (Ms. Jamie Gray), presented site images and renderings and told the council the homes would be for sale.
The council held a public hearing; no members of the public registered opposition during the hearing. The council moved, seconded, and voted to adopt the zoning amendment.
The action was recorded as Zoning Amendment No. 19 in Council District 2. The council did not attach additional conditions to the rezoning during the hearing.
