The budget amendment (Resolution 25-105) was presented by county audit/finance staff as necessary to record increases in grant revenue, including funds from the Violence Against Women Act and a Show Me Certification grant administered through the clerk—s office. Staff said the amendment provides both spending authority and receiving authority so the departments can expend the funds and accept reimbursements. The commission moved, seconded and approved the amendment.
The commission adopted Resolution 25-106 supporting the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety—s Buckle Up, Phone Down Challenge. Mary, executive director of the coalition, told the commission the program originated in Missouri and is being encouraged at the county level. Mary requested a photograph for the coalition and said, “The safety is, as I say at the end of every meeting, it—s not a moment. It—s a lifestyle.” The resolution passed (recorded vote: 2—0 in favor).
Commissioners authorized issuance of a request for proposals for a construction manager/adviser for the Cass County Sheriff—s Office North Annex project (Resolution 25-107). Lieutenant Becker Schutti, Cass County Sheriff—s Office, said the grant will support the ICAC task force that serves seven counties and "we—ll be able to utilize these funds to purchase needed software to help us download the digital devices and gain evidence that'll be used to help convict these," referring to digital-evidence tools the office needs.
