Board approves $10,503.64 carryover for county health department
Summary
Northumberland County approved a request Oct. 9 from the local health district to carry forward $10,503.64 of unspent FY25 funds into the current operating budget. Health staff said the balance arose from timing differences in rent and IT bills and federal funding shifts.

Brendon Ruth Park, health director with the district health agency, asked supervisors on Oct. 9 to carry forward $10,503.64 of unspent fiscal‑year 2025 funds into the agency’s current operating budget.
Park told the board the surplus appeared for two reasons: timing shifts in federal funding and a few rent and IT invoices that were not posted before the fiscal‑year close. He said carrying the funds forward would avoid a refund to the county and would not change the total amount the health department invoices the county for the year.
County staff confirmed quarterly payments to the health district had been made and that the money Park described was already held by the health department. After brief clarifying remarks, the board approved the request by voice vote.
