The Lawrence Alliance for Education recorded several routine votes at its Oct. 8 meeting.
Use of facilities: Facilities staff presented five community requests for school spaces (gym use, performing-arts recital, violin concerts and an Elk's hoop-shoot). The board voted to approve the requests. Maria Mueller recorded an abstention on the motion; other members voted in favor. The roll call recorded for the facilities vote was: Jose Luis Galaf: yes; Edgar De Leon: yes; Juana Matias: yes; Maria Mueller: abstain; Patricia Mariano: yes.
Meeting minutes: The board approved minutes for June 11 and Sept. 10, 2025. The Sept. 10 minutes passed with three yes votes and two abstentions (Edgar De Leon and Juana Matias recorded abstentions). The June 11 minutes were approved by roll call (members recorded yes votes during the roll call).
Other routine items on the consent/administrative portion of the agenda were opened for discussion and approved without substantive amendment.

Board members and staff said these administrative approvals allow the district to move forward with community programming and maintain meeting records.
