Council approves resolution correcting assessor records for parcels tied to Laguna Hills

Laguna Niguel — The City Council unanimously approved a resolution on Oct. 7 to correct property‑tax allocations for several assessor parcels tied historically to the former Laguna Niguel Community Services District but located in the neighboring city of Laguna Hills.
City Attorney Smith explained that, following a reorganization more than 20 years ago, a handful of parcels were administratively left on Laguna Niguel’s rolls even though they receive full services from Laguna Hills. The companion resolution already was adopted by Laguna Hills; the city’s action completes the paperwork so the County Assessor can correct records and allocate ad valorem taxes to the servicing city.
There were no public comments on the item. Mayor Pro Tem Johns moved the resolution; the motion was seconded and the clerk announced unanimous adoption, 5–0.
The council directed staff to forward the approved resolution to the County for correction of the assessor’s rolls and revenue allocation.
