Weber County commissioners on Oct. 20 approved use of impact fees to fund a $2,300 engineering estimate for a proposed Pineview Loop north trail reroute and bridge.
Representatives of an Eden-area trail group requested a rough engineer's estimate for a 10-foot asphalt trail with imported material and an 80-foot pedestrian bridge to provide a Pineview Loop alignment that would avoid seasonal flooding and steep crossings. Staff explained the planned improvements would lie within the boundary of an incorporated city once that area completes incorporation, so the county would fund only the preliminary estimate and not be responsible for construction.
Commissioners agreed that the small study should be paid from impact fees, noting the study would give the new city a cost picture to guide future funding. No formal county construction commitment was made during the discussion.
