Board amends agenda, schedules budget workshop and township officers meeting
Summary
The board removed a consent item (K), approved the amended agenda, set a budget workshop for 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 2 and noted union negotiations at 9:30 a.m.; the township officers meeting was set for Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Millville American Legion.
County staff informed the board that union negotiations are scheduled on Sept. 2 and Sept. 5 and asked that the Sept. 2 board meeting be shortened. Staff proposed a budget workshop at 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 2 so the board could still attend negotiations at 9:30 a.m. The board agreed to the schedule.
Staff also announced a township officers meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 20, at the Millville American Legion and said department heads were asked to attend to put faces with names. Staff said a closed session is planned at the second September negotiations meeting to review bargaining progress with the county's bargaining groups.
At the meeting start, one change to the agenda was announced: item K would be removed from the consent agenda because the requirements to approve the final payment had not been completed. Commissioner Waka moved to approve the agenda with that deletion; Commissioner Power seconded and the motion carried.
Later the board moved and seconded to recess to the township officers meeting tomorrow and to the budget workshop on Sept. 2 at 8:00 a.m.; the motion carried.
