The package included: a new petition for extended hours at Burger King (922.61 Broadway) to operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day; multiple lodging-house renewals (Metro North Housing Corp at 22 Charles Street and 115 Washington Street; Cedar House LLC at 116–118 Cedar Street); and several Class 2 auto-sales renewals (addresses on Ferry, Lebanon and Eastern Avenue).
Councilor Cica, reporting for the License Committee, said the committee considered the petitions at its prior meeting and recommended them out favorably. Councilor Colon Hayes recused herself from votes affecting Metro North Housing Corp because she serves on that board and noted the recusal on the record.
A motion by Councilor Cica, seconded by Councilor Simonelli, to grant the listed petitions carried. The council approved the slate and the Burger King petition enabling 24/7 operation.
The approvals were recorded as routine renewals for the listed lodging houses and auto dealers; the council did not attach special conditions in the meeting minutes.
