The architectural review board had previously commented that the signs were proportional and appeared appealing, but the department recommended denial because the signs depart from the site-specific ordinance and the pattern for signage along Taylor Road.
Owner Rippal Patel, who was sworn at the hearing, said the signs were installed during the business opening and that the installation had been overlooked while addressing other opening tasks. Patel offered to cooperate and modify the lighting or sign materials if needed.
The board discussed options and accepted staff's suggestion that the petitioner and department meet to explore alternatives; a motion to postpone to the next meeting passed on a voice vote. The department will work with the petitioner on potential options such as turning off internal lighting or reconfiguring the signs to comply with the Town Center rules, and the case will return to the board at the next scheduled meeting.
