Council debated whether to set a minimum bid (the motion proposed a $1 per pound minimum) and how to ensure the buyer did not remove items not designated for sale. After discussion the council voted to table the item to allow staff to gather and stage the metal in a defined area, document quantities and ascertain fixed‑asset status prior to placing the material on bid.
Council directed staff to prepare an inventory, take photos for public notice, confirm scales for weighing and confirm any fixed‑asset accounting steps before returning the matter to a future council meeting.
