After recessing into closed session to confer with legal counsel, the Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees reported approval of two settlement agreements in Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) cases.
President Kaminski read the case numbers and reported that the board approved settlement agreements intended to resolve issues related to students’ educational programs. According to the readout, each agreement provides for a district assessment, compensatory services and associated legal fees. Roll‑call votes were recorded for each settlement and both motions carried 5‑0; Clerk Wood and Trustee Napier were recorded absent.
The board cited Government Code section 54956.9(d)(1) as the basis for closed‑session discussion of pending litigation. No additional settlement terms, dollar amounts, or student‑identifying information were disclosed in open session.
