East Troy approves park bleachers, DPW payload system and winter salt MOU with Walworth County

Parks staff reported that the centerfield bleachers at the Ross Miller Sports Complex are deteriorated and not ADA compliant. Two sets of new aluminum bleachers (the same model installed at Mitchell Park) were proposed at a cost of about $22,000. The board approved using residual funds from two completed projects (rec room and sound system) to purchase the bleachers. A motion to approve the purchase was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Payload system for DPW loader
Public works staff explained Walworth County expects the village to use its own loader to remove salt from the county salt dome this winter. The village’s loader will require a payload/weighing system so the county can bill accurately. The board authorized purchase of a Case payload system from Miller Bradford for $8,845.10 using DPW surplus equipment funds; the motion passed by voice vote.
Winter MOU for county salt purchases
After approving the payload equipment purchase, the board approved the annual winter memorandum of understanding with Walworth County for salt allotment and pricing. Staff noted the village did not use its full allotment last winter.
