Board names labor negotiators for 2025–26 CSEA negotiations; corrected slate read and approved after closed session

In open session the board heard a readout of proposed negotiators that included Superintendent Brian Bell; Hojad Antazari, Chief Administrator of Business Services; Brian Park of DWK (legal counsel); Andrea Paxton, Chief Administrator of Instructional Services; Roxanne Romero, Chief Administrator of Personnel; Kendra Bailey, principal of Golden Hills Elementary; and Christy Libatique, principal of Tehachapi High School. Vice President Kelly moved to approve the appointment and Trustee Cooper seconded; the board voted “aye” and the motion carried 5‑0.
After recessing to closed session to discuss two OAH cases, the board resumed open session and recalled Item 19 because of an incorrect name on the roster. The board read the corrected version (identifying negotiations with the Association of Teachers in the readback) and again moved and seconded the slate. The corrected motion passed 5‑0.
No public discussion or amendments to the slate were recorded in the public meeting. The board did not disclose negotiating strategy in open session; the appointment authorizes the named representatives to bargain on the district’s behalf.
