Staff presented two annual agreements with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission on Oct. 28 covering aging services and transportation for the 2025–2026 contract year.
For older adults, staff said federal funds of $107,524.26 and state funds of $83,757.92 combine for a total contract amount of $191,282.18 for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. County matching funds of $8,383.65 were listed in the packet. Staff recommended the board authorize Chairman Daniel to sign the contract on behalf of the board.
Staff also presented a memorandum of understanding with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission to provide transportation services for eligible Department of Human Services consumers for the same contract period and asked the board to authorize the chairman to sign the MOU.
A commissioner asked whether federal funding was at risk given federal budget uncertainty; staff said the program administrators expected funding to remain flat and that payments for July–October were expected though some payments had not yet been received. Both items were presented for consent; the transcript does not record a separate adoption vote.
