Ocoee holds first readings on budget amendment and smoking ordinance; approves consent agenda

The Ocoee City Commission approved the consent agenda for items 1–18 and took first reading of two ordinances on Oct. 21.
Commissioner Wilson moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Firstner seconded and the motion carried. No roll-call vote tally with individual names was recorded in the public transcript during the meeting.
Assistant Finance Director Lewinsky read the title of an ordinance amending the city budget adopted by Ordinance 2024-28 to increase appropriations for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1, 2024, and ends Sept. 30, 2025. The ordinance will return for a second reading and public hearing on Nov. 18, 2025.
Parks Director Gains read an ordinance amending Article 2 of Chapter 124 of the Ocoee Code of Ordinances (sections 124-8 through 124-11) to prohibit smoking and vaping in portions of recreational property; that ordinance is also scheduled for second reading and public hearing Nov. 18, 2025.
No public hearings were held on either ordinance at the meeting and no final votes on the ordinances were taken.
