Gautier City Council approves docket claims, grant modifications and Wounded Warrior support

Gautier City Council on Oct. 20 approved the docket claims and a consent agenda covering items 1–11, including modifications to Jackson County subaward grant agreements for water and sewer projects, a professional services agreement for the Dolphin Drive CSX grade-separation project and approval of logo use and in-kind services requested by the Wounded Warrior Project.

The council voted to add two consent items at the start of the meeting: item 10, permission to use the official city logo in an educational coloring book for a Wounded Warrior Project initiative, and item 11, approval of in-kind services to include one set of temporary bleachers to be delivered Oct. 24 and picked up Oct. 26 for the project. Councilman Jackson moved to add the items and later moved the consent package for approval. Councilman George seconded the final consent motion; the package passed on a voice vote.

The consent package listed several infrastructure- and grant-related items. Those include modification agreements with Jackson County for Mississippi Municipality and County Water Infrastructure Grant Program subawards covering sanitary-sewer rehabilitation, Highway 90 sanitary-sewer and water-line work, and a citywide lift-station upgrade. The council also authorized a professional services agreement with Seymour Engineering for work on the Dolphin Drive CSX grade-separation project and designated Sam King, grants and projects director, as the authorized official for that project.

A separate motion approved the docket's claim. Councilman Fuller moved to approve the docket's claim; a councilmember-at-large seconded the motion and it carried.
