The Jefferson County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a 6-foot side-setback variance for the construction of a metal accessory building at 2170 Northridge Drive (Apple Valley Phase 3, Lot 1) at its meeting.
George Brymer, the builder representing property owner Dwight Bateman, told the board the owner was out of town and said the applicants "originally thought might need a 3 foot variance and then decided it was gonna wind up asking for a 6" to get level ground. Brymer spoke at the podium after the chair introduced the agenda item.
After a brief exchange, Board member David Stein moved to permit the variance and Chad Dixon seconded the motion. The chair called for a voice vote; members responded in the affirmative and the board approved the 6-foot side-setback variance.
The application was presented by a representative rather than the property owner. No citizen comments were recorded on the item at the meeting. The record did not include a roll-call tally or any specific conditions attached to the variance in the transcript.
