The Stonecrest City Council voted unanimously Oct. 27 to adopt a resolution selecting Kaiser Permanente as the city’s medical benefits provider effective Jan. 1, 2026. The measure passed 5–0 following the city manager’s presentation and a brief discussion.
City staff reminded employees and eligible participants that open enrollment for the new plan will begin Nov. 1 and run through Nov. 15. The resolution also adopts the city’s workforce health engagement plan and directs staff to implement the changeover consistent with plan timelines and open‑enrollment requirements.
Council did not debate detailed plan design in the public meeting; staff said Kaiser representatives were available for questions and that the switch follows a procurement and benefits review conducted in recent budget work sessions.
