Town finance staff presented the draft 2026 budget and an export of the town’s capital improvement plan during the Oct. 28 meeting. Staff noted August sales tax receipts were stronger than earlier estimates, allowing modest increases in transfers to capital and airport funds. Staff also increased a website‑accessibility project estimate to $20,000 to reflect state requirements for accessibility and moved an airport HVAC project onto the capital priority list.
Because the packet contained numerous capital projects and some items required additional scoping (notably the ball‑field rehabilitation), the trustees voted to continue the public hearing to Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, so staff can adjust the draft and return with more detailed cost estimates and grant matching status.
The continuation passed by motion; no final budget adoption occurred on Oct. 28.
