Historic Preservation Commission secures Saving Places event, seeks town sponsorship for evening meal

O’Brien said the commission planned to host the Save Places on the Road conference in June 2026 and requested the town consider sponsoring the evening meal associated with the conference. He described a modest financial ask (approximately $3,000 for continuing education/support) and said some scholarship funds and discounted tickets would be available for locals.
The commission also outlined a proposed historical video project and other outreach efforts. Trustees asked for details on the expected town contribution and suggested the commission provide more precise estimates and a formal sponsorship request for a future agenda item.
