"We put it out there to have some bids given, to make the necessary repairs, so we can stop the leaks from getting into both police and fire," Beyer said, summarizing the thermographic findings.
Bridge lighting vendor name change: Council reviewed an amendment to Ordinance No. 11,477‑2025 to change the named vendor from Pepco to Echo Electric for the Holland Road bridge lighting project. The mayor said the change is administrative and does not alter the approved bid price; council moved the amendment to the Oct. 21 agenda for first reading.
Pavement/equipment services program: The director of public service was authorized to advertise bids for the 2026–27 equipment and general pavement services program. Council noted the bidding approach mirrors prior years (time‑and‑materials) and allows the city to select the lowest‑responsive bidders and then schedule streets and concrete work within budget in future proceedings.
Each motion to place the items on the Oct. 21 agenda passed on roll call with supporting votes recorded. Council asked staff to confirm warranty coverage for roof repairs and to proceed with normal bid advertising for the pavement program.
