The Webster Groves Business District Council confirmed event plans and flagged weather-based uncertainty for a weekend tournament during its Oct. 15 meeting.
Organizers said the trick-or-treat event for local businesses will remain 3–5 p.m. and that, because of that midday schedule, organizers will not host a food truck this year. The council described a s'mores fire pit behind storefronts, a printed map of participating businesses, and on-the-ground coordination with property owners. Elena, who updated the map, said participation had grown enough to add entire blocks compared with prior years.
Members discussed social-media promotion and noted they had printed posters and shared maps with participating businesses. One member said the district’s Instagram account administrators were trying to recover the account password and that staff could distribute graphics to participating businesses for posts.
Separately, organizers of a pickleball tournament planned for the coming weekend said forecasting models predicted a severe storm with damaging winds and hail potential; they were considering rescheduling or moving to an indoor Plan B but preferred not to shift the event indoors to a different town. Organizers said they would notify partners and provide an update after the meeting.
Next steps: staff to distribute trick-or-treat maps and graphics to participating businesses; pickleball organizers to confirm go/no-go after monitoring weather forecasts.
