Osage Beach approves $58,000 contract for multi-sports feasibility study

The Board of Aldermen approved an agreement with Victus Advisors LLC on Oct. 16 to conduct a multi-sports feasibility study for an amount not to exceed $58,000.
Eric Hundelt, marketing and development director, said the engagement is two-phased: first, a study to determine whether a sports facility is viable for the Osage Beach/lake area and which sports and facility types would be most appropriate; second, a potential follow-up that could include site selection and design if the study recommends moving forward.
"We don't know what sport it is," Hundelt said. "That's one of the reasons we're doing this: to let the data and the research decide whether it's badminton, pickleball, softball, soccer, or another sport." He added that the study aims to enhance the city's broader economic development plan by identifying activities that generate direct and indirect visitor spending.
Board members asked whether the city had identified any specific properties. Staff said no single site is selected; the consultant will analyze supply, demand and potential sites and may assist with site selection if the board opts to proceed. The board approved the second reading of Bill 25-92 and authorized the contract.
