The Board of Aldermen approved change order number 1 to Ace Pipe Cleaning Company's contract for the 2023 wastewater collection system rehabilitation, adding $13,162.93 and bringing the total contract value to $320,284.07. Council adopted the ordinance after readings and a recorded vote of seven in favor with one absence (ordinance 25-38).
Staff said the change order reconciles contract quantities to match as-built work. City staff listed four items that increased cost, including two emergency open-cut repairs, a sanitary sewer overflow at a manhole on the walking bridge across Center Creek, additional cleaning and CIPP/CCTV work in Brentwood, and trimming or adjustment of laterals during the project. The change order is intended to close out the 2023 contract; staff said Ace Pipe has already begun work on 2025 projects.
The ordinance authorizes the mayor or city administrator to execute the change order on behalf of the city.
