Miami Lakes committee finalizes staging, registration and parking plans for parade

The Miami Lakes parade planning committee confirmed logistics for staging and registration at a meeting where volunteers and committee members finalized where parade participants will line up and where registration will be located.
Organizers said registration and the main staging area will be in the same location used last year behind the Chase parking lot rather than inside Town Hall. Committee members discussed the time volunteers should arrive for set-up and agreed volunteers and staff will begin moving equipment early Sunday morning so vehicles and floats can access the route before road closures.
The committee reviewed supplies and site layout: approximately 25 chairs were reported available for the registration area, the committee plans to use a mix of 6-foot tables and smaller folding tables, and volunteers offered truck transport to move equipment to the staging area. Property managers for the adjacent building and the town’s police department told organizers the lot will be roped off Sunday morning to prevent private cars from blocking the staging area.
Committee members also discussed trailer drop-off for golf carts and whether trailers should remain on-site. The group agreed that trailers could be parked at Town Hall for unload and that drivers should then move vehicles to the registration/staging area. Organizers said a single point of contact would collect keys for dealership-provided vehicles the night before the parade to streamline morning staging.
Next steps: organizers will circulate maps and a WhatsApp group with drop-off and staging details; volunteers were asked to arrive at registration by 09:00, and section leads were asked to arrive earlier to set up flags and chairs.
