City staff presented an application to rename a short segment of Bugatti Avenue in the downtown district to Belle Haven Way to accommodate developer branding for the Belle Haven Village project.
Eliza (staff) said the change affects four parcels on the small strip across from RC Willey on Third West; three of the parcels are owned by the same private owner and one parcel is owned by UTA. The applicant asked for the name change so that the new building coming online would have a consistent branded address and to avoid tenant confusion while the developer pursues future street vacation and privatization of internal roads as part of the master-planned Belle Haven Village project.
Staff said the usual process is to wait until vacation and platting are complete, but the developer opted to pay a separate application fee due to a time-sensitive building opening. Staff framed this as an initial administrative step and said the name-change application will return on the next regular meeting agenda for formal consideration.
No council vote or formal action occurred at the work meeting; the item was presented for initial review and staff answered questions about parcels affected and the process.
