Commission approves minutes and consent agenda; no ordinances or new business
Summary
The commission adopted the minutes of the Sept. 22 regular meeting and Oct. 8 agenda review and approved the consent agenda in full. There were no ordinances on second reading, no resolutions and no new business.
The Winter Haven City Commission adopted two sets of minutes and approved the consent agenda without recorded opposition.
Mayor Nathaniel J. Birdsong Jr. opened a public hearing on the minutes and, after noting no speakers, closed the hearing and returned to the commission meeting. "All those in favor of the motion, let it be known by saying aye," the mayor said; commissioners responded "Aye" and the motion carried.
Later in the meeting the commission moved to approve the consent agenda in its entirety. The mayor opened a public hearing on the consent items, received no comments, and the consent agenda was adopted.
No ordinances on second reading or first-reading resolutions were considered, and the meeting closed with commissioner liaison reports and manager updates.
