Commissioner Edwards resigns; Kyle Madsen joins Plan Commission

The Spokane Plan Commission on Oct. 22 announced that Commissioner Edwards resigned from the commission because new work assignments keep him away from Spokane and make regular attendance difficult. Commission staff said they are coordinating with the mayor’s office to fill the vacancy and noted some other terms are ending soon.
Commissioners introduced Kyle Madsen, who recently joined the commission. Madsen said he works for Bernard Willis Architects, described himself as a “Spokane freak” with local interest in the city’s built environment, and said he lives in the Emerson Garfield neighborhood with his family. “I work for Bernard Willis Architects … I live in Emerson Garfield neighborhood,” Madsen said.
Staff asked members interested in subcommittees (transportation or capital facilities) to respond to scheduling requests sent by email so subcommittee meetings can be arranged.
