Committee refers sheriff documentation and mosquito‑abatement removal resolutions to full council after public comment

Regarding Resolution C‑72‑15, Andrew Cappatelli, speaking on behalf of the sheriff, asked that the resolution be withdrawn. He said the sheriff’s office had already reformatted transportation and population information at the judge's direction and that the requested data had been transmitted to parish staff; he characterized some of the resolution’s whereas clauses as inaccurate and said payments have been issued under the new format. Lauren Hudson offered to leave exhibits showing transmission of the requested data with the council administrator.
On Resolution C‑72‑16, Dr. Kevin Caluet, director of the St. Tammany Parish Mosquito Abatement District, urged the committee to delay action so the district could present evidence and respond to issues raised in a prior government efficiency meeting. "Until the time is given for a full defense of our service, it is simply premature to take up a resolution to remove members of our board of commissioners," he said.
Both resolutions were referred to the full council for further consideration. Motion to refer Resolution C‑72‑15: Miss Tanner; second: Miss Cassebon. Motion to refer Resolution C‑72‑16: Miss Tanner; second: Miss Cassebon. Voice votes carried in committee.
