City reports $1.5M grant for Main Street Boat Ramp; dredging and shoreline stabilization moving toward bids

City staff reported that the city secured a Land and Water Conservation grant for Main Street Boat Ramp and that dredging design is complete, with shoreline stabilization for Swinging Bench also funded.
“Where we are now, we have the design for the dredging,” staff said. Staff explained the boat ramp work and shoreline stabilization are being coordinated so that improvements to one facility do not detract from the other. Bids are expected in the next few months, with construction anticipated roughly six months afterward.
Staff also reported two urban forestry grants: a tree canopy survey that is currently out for proposals and a smaller grant for exotic plant removal and revegetation at Filbert Street, intended to reduce invasive plants and reestablish native groundcover and trails.
Those projects are in design or procurement phases; the committee received the updates and had minor operational questions (for example about pavement markings and windscreens at other recreation sites) that staff noted for follow up.
